Interactive Playbooks

Court diagrams you step through one move at a time: where each player is, what the defence does, and the read that follows. Each play is translated from one of the guides, and the offence reads from published coaching playbooks, for the coach with a group of juniors and the next session to plan.

A starting point, not a script. Plays are simplified to teach the idea, and they may contain mistakes. Before you try one, watch your own players. Their ages, skills and confidence decide what’s worth running. Spotted something wrong, or want a play added? Email me.

The plays

Thirty short reads for the half court, each one an action with a defender who gives you the cue: cuts, screens, handoffs, the post, zones, out-of-bounds plays and spacing. They are distilled from published coaching playbooks, curated and reviewed by Ravi Sundram. Browse the Offence Reads →

How to use a play

Use the Next and Back buttons, the left and right arrow keys, or swipe on a phone. The dots jump straight to a step. Every play also has a “Read the steps as text” option under the diagram.

Want a whole session built around a play? The Session Plans take a read like these from a single drill up to a live game.
