Rotation Planner

Fair playing time is easy to promise and hard to track from the bench. Add your squad, set the game format, and get a rotation where everyone plays the same amount — then print it and take it with you. It all stays on your device: nothing is uploaded.

Step 1

Your game

Domestic games are usually 2 halves of 20 minutes; rep games are usually 4 quarters of 7–10 minutes. The break between periods is always a sub point — add sub breaks within each half or quarter to rotate more often (and to make equal time possible with a bigger squad). Picking halves or quarters fills in that format's usual length and sub breaks; change any of them.

Step 2

Your players

Type the names, tick who starts, and press Enter to add the next player. We start you with 8 rows for halves and 10 for quarters — the usual domestic and rep squad sizes — so add or remove rows to match your team. Every row counts as a player, and blank names show as “Player 1”, “Player 2”…

Step 3

Your rotation

Tap any square to change it by hand — for example to give your best defenders the last stint in a close game. The totals and checks update as you go. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move between squares and Space or Enter to switch one.

Prints best in landscape on A4. Each filled square means that player is on court for that stint.

Sub calls

Your players and rotation are saved in this browser only, so they're here next time. Nothing is uploaded and the names never leave your device. “Start over” clears them. Privacy

Why equal time

The Coaching Under-12s guide sets the rule: equal time for all players, tracked with a tally. The Parent Communication Toolkit goes a step further and suggests bringing your rotation records to a playing-time conversation. A printed sheet covers both — plan it once, tick it off at the bench, keep it to show a parent.

The planner balances stints, so it only knows what you tell it. If your competition has its own minimum-playing-time rule, check that too. And remember the guide says roughly equal — change any square by hand when the game calls for it.
